3.4.6.1 Landscape Trends
The Countryside Agency “Countryside Quality Counts” [7] reports show the following changes in the overall character of West Midland’s landscape character areas over the period 1990 to 1998 are as follows:
- Arden – Marked changes inconsistent with character – including upgrading of transport corridors including the A45 and the M42;
- Cannock Chase and Cank Wood –Some changes inconsistent with character
- Mid-Severn Plateau – Small or limited changes consistent with character – including development of the M54 corridor.
