11.1 Consultation
The SEA Regulations set specific requirements for consultation with the Statutory Environmental Bodies, the public and other ‘interested parties’. The interested parties could include NGO’s, community groups and academia, for example.
CEPOG will consult on the Environmental Report in accordance with the Regulations; this will coincide with consultation on the Provisional LTP2. In addition to consulting with Statutory Environmental Bodies, the following bodies will also be contacted directly and invited to respond:
- Umbrella environmental groups (Friends of the Earth, CPRE, Transport 2000
- Local environmental groups via the requisite local authority.
- Local Strategic Partnerships
- Advantage West Midlands
- Government Office for the West Midlands
- The West Midlands Regional Assembly
- Sustainability West Midlands
- Adjoining Strategic Authorities
- DEFRA
The general public will also have the opportunity to comment on both documents via the local press.
The document and technical appendices will be available along with the Provisional LTP on the West Midlands LTP website www.westmidlandsltp.gov.uk . Comments can also be made on line. Hard copies of any of the documents are available on request from the address below.
